Lyon Hall

So, I moved to Clarendon in Arlington, VA fresh out of college in 2001 with my good friend Christa and there were just a handful of restaurants and none qualified as trendy. I wised up and moved to Dupont Circle and vowed to never cross the river again...Oh how times have changed! I've been in VA for over two years now and I actually like it...and will admit it publicly. I digress...

The Clarendon restaurant/bar scene is blowing up and the latest restaurant is Lyon Hall. It opened just last week and I went on Wednesday night with Mr. Ginger. It is such a great addition to the neighborhood! It's being compared to Brasserie Beck and while I'm not sure I'd compare the two, there are more fish options at Lyon Hall (have I mentioned I don't eat large animals?). The decor is modern without being snooty and the bar scene looked lively. I encourage you to check it out if you're on this side of the Potomac but be warned...the men's and women's bathrooms share an open space above the sinks. You'll know what I mean when you go there but I got a really awkward "Hi" from a dude while I was washing my hands.
